PASTORS' DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Unveil Your BlessingsMarcus Sanders
“God blesses the one who reads this prophecy to the church, and he blesses all who listen to it and obey what it says. For the time is near when these things will happen.” Rev. 1:3 (NLT)
Today I begin reading a book that many will choose not to read. Its scenes of destruction are descriptive and brutal. Man has finally reached his rock bottom and they will not get a second chance to start over. Man will finally reach his eternal destiny as lost or found. When I read the "Book of Revelations" for the 1st time, it was like experiencing a sci-fi movie with aliens; maybe that's why people believe in space men. But this book is very import to me because God said He will bless me if I read it. Why would I be blessed? It’s because I see what I'm saved from. The worldly person is greedy, selfish, and prideful. This will all consummate into one big ball of strife. You see life is not all about becoming powerful, successful, independent, it all about trusting God and following His ways. This life doesn't promise me security, safety, success and happiness.
It's funny, many people believe in the evolution of man. They feel things will get better as we evolve into a superman, superpower, and a super nation. But life, if left alone, doesn't get better, it gets worse. Instead of advancing we degenerate morally. It's been a while since I last read the Book of Revelations. I know I will find it refreshing because I will see life from both the obedient and disobedient. The lessons, examples of faith, endurance, and perseverance will stand the test of Satan's worse. In the end God says, we win. I love being on a wining team. It may not at times be glamorous but it reaps eternal life.
Father You've bless me. Help me to understand Your book of Unveiling. May the principles from this book become like well-driven nails of truth into my life that will enable me to stand for You and against the enemy. I love You Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
