Stormy Weather Ahead

Richard Waialeale

Ezra 4:4-5 (NIV)
4 Then the peoples around them set out to discourage the people of Judah and make them afraid to go on building.
5 They hired counselors to work against them and frustrate their plans during the entire reign of Cyrus king of Persia and down to the reign of Darius king of Persia.

At the end of chapter 4 of Ezra, the Bible says that the work on the temple came to a standstill until the second year of the reign of king Darius (v. 24). How do you stay motivated to maintain the momentum for the vision God gives you in spite of road blocks? Sixteen years was the length of time we’re looking at for Zerubbabel to encourage his leaders to maintain the momentum.
What today’s reading teaches me is how important it is to be an encouragement when hope is all we have. People are watching and they need to see the leaders who will magnify worship as their top priority, and to emphasize the need to teach the Word of God as the authoritative rule for living during these delicate times, and to show the world the image of God as we stand above all obstacles. I must be worthy in the eyes of the Lord God as well as being worthy to myself. (stay thirsty my friends)

Jesus if you say let’s go to the other side then God Bless you, we are going to the other side. Your Word lives inside of us, and it is enough to get us to the other side. Criticism cannot stop us, the storms we may face cannot stop us - Your Word will not return void. Thank you for sowing seeds into our hearts and to press through and fulfill Your promises. Amen.
