Will the Real Christian Please Stand Up?

"'Who do people say that the Son of Man is?' ... 'Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.' He said to them, 'But who do you say that I am?' Simon Peter answered, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'" (Matt. 16:13-16)

  1. Refuse to compromise the TRUTH of God.
"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love." (1 Cor. 16:13-14 NIV)

"There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." (Prov. 14:12)

  2. Refuse to compromise the LOVE of God.

"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them ... But love your enemies, and do good...and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men." (Luke 6:32-35)

"A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone...and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people's hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil's trap." (2 Tim. 2:24-26 NLT)

  3. Be intolerant of sin, but refuse to be JUDGMENTAL.
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned." (Luke 6:37)
"Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won't be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ..." (Eph. 4:14-15 NLT)
