Dr. Wayne Cordeiro is Senior Pastor of New Hope Christian Fellowship, a Foursquare church in Honolulu, Hawaii. New Hope is a multi-campus church with 5 different locations on the island of Oahu, as well as affiliate churches world-wide. New Hope began on September 10, 1995 and since then eighty-three churches have been pioneered under Wayne's leadership.
Wayne was raised in Palolo valley on O'ahu and then lived in Japan for three years. He returned to Oregon where he graduated from Eugene Bible College. He served with Youth For Christ and as a staff pastor at Faith Center Foursquare Church, before returning to Hawaii.
In 1998, he founded Pacific Rim Bible College that trains, develops and supports emerging leaders who will plant twenty-first-century churches throughout the world.
Through New Hope International (NHI) Ministries, he shares his vision and life lessons with pastors from around the globe at the quarterly Leadership Practicum. NHI's sole purpose is to be a resource to existing ministries and to plant future churches. NHI has planted churches in the United States, Hawaii, Philippines, Myanmar, Japan, and Australia.
Wayne enjoys relaxing rides on his Harley-Davidson and writing music. He has released six albums to date. He has also authored nine books - Doing Church As A Team, Gems Along The Way, Attitudes that Attract Success, Rising Above, Culture Shift, Dream Releasers, The Divine Mentor, Leading on Empty, and The Encore Church. He is contributing author for church leadership books and has written articles for various magazines such as Leadership Journal. Pastor Wayne and his wife, Anna, have three children, Amy, Aaron, and Abigail and three grandchildren.
